Baptism

Meet Liam. A mild-tempered little boy who does not like to get wet. His parents Valerie and Chris had me join them and their family to document this wee one's baptism. What sweet moments I was invited to capture.
Who is this kid? I dunno...he is really curious though.

Laurel Linnea Sharp

Some great friends of mine, great friends I am happy to call neighbors, recently had a sweet baby girl! The 8 lbs Laurel was the perfect reward for a not so patient waiting game. She is just under two weeks old in these photos. Someone was a bit moody for her photo shoot so we got a few and hope to get more with the whole family soon. Here she is...Miss Laurel Linnea Sharp!

I think Laurel was a bit tired of being moved about. Her new friend Jackson...well he is just tired of listening to her.

Revisiting the Past

During recent job searching work from previous days has surfaced as the need for writing and photography samples arise. In light of the happenings I though it would be fun to share some of my most recent favorites. These are all from my work at VIP Williamson County magazine. I hope you enjoy this bit of history. (P.S. I apologize for the poor scan quality)

Quite possibly one of the hottest shoots I have ever done...aside from the botanical garden photo below...airport hangers hold an astounding amount of heat in case you were wondering. (This is VIP Murfressboro)

This is the one and only shoot I did at VIP that had an animal involved. Go big or go home you know? She was well-behaved.

Don't they look great?! It was a scorcher and they were troopers.

A Little Nature

When it comes to flowers I am a typical girl. I cannot get enough of them. These bundles of grace are even more beautiful to me in nature. Something about seeing the beauty of them away from humanity and anyone that would nurture them...amazing. I am reminded of God's creativity in nature. It is one thing to be surrounded by palatial meadows or awe-inspiring mountains, but for the meadows and mountains to be filled/covered with flowering vegetation?! Oh man...gets me every time. I love attention to detail and to me this is the most impressive form. On a recent trip to Cades Cove I captured a little bit of the detail I love. The rhododendron. Feast your eyes on her beauty.

Another portrait, Another album, Another chance to help

Stephen Gordon. What. A. Guy. He has been a great friend to Byron and his songwriting has provided a fun creative outlet for him too. Stephen needed a keys player some years ago and Byron has been able to contribute to his musical endeavors. It has been so much fun to see things from start to finish. Speaking of finish...another album is almost complete and with that comes a time to help make the art happen.

Visit Stephen's Kickstarter and help him raise funds for production and touring. This way he can come to a city near you! He is a little over halfway there but needs your help to make it happen!

New Life

I love to photograph expectant mothers. The beauty, joy and excited anticipation that surrounds them during a photo shoot is the best. Even better is when they call a month or two later to schedule the newborn photo session! Babies. Really, who doesn't love a baby? Those chubby faces and little legs...and the tiny fingers and fingernails! It is truly amazing to observe their small beginnings and watch the growth.

Thank you to the mothers who have recently invited me into their lives to document these sweet memories. I can't wait to share more with them.

First up, Heather and Adeline:

Next, Ashely and Giles:

To end this post, Julie, the beautiful mother still waiting for her twin girls:
